![]() ![]() This is naturally furstrating because the OCR feature is one that I use all the time, and the primary reason I pay for Acrobat DC rather than using the free reader. It does not appear to be file-specific, but something in the software (or not in the software) itself. I get it on different PDF files, from different sources. I have done so several times - with lots of shutting down PC after installing and re-starting. If you are using this method to OCR files in Adobe Acrobat, you need to make sure you have enabled the Auto-OCR feature. Its the only PDF viewer that can open and interact with all. By default, Adobe Acrobat enables auto-OCR, once you upload a PDF or an image, when you export as editable formats, the OCR will be processed automatically. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC software is the free, trusted standard for viewing, printing, signing, and annotating PDFs. PDF Candy because it offers something that many free options dont: an OCR. PC/laptop Open Source software is software with source code that anyone can inspect, modify or enhance.
